Beijing | Reuters — China’s state planner on Friday said authorities will make timely adjustments to hog reserves and continue to strengthen the management of hog production capacity, according to a statement released by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Companies should “strictly implement capacity control measures, scientifically arrange production and operation, orderly reduce the number of breeding sows, and control the number of pigs slaughtered in a reasonable manner,” the statement read.

The remarks were made during a meeting with representatives from the country’s hog producers, the state planner said.
