WINNIPEG, May 19 (MarketsFarm) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– United States President Donald Trump is threatening to permanently halt funding for the World Health Organization (WHO). Trump initially suspended contributions a month ago, and is now requesting a commitment to “major substantive improvements within the next 30 days” or the U.S. may reconsider its membership in the international body.

Thabane, 80, and his wife are both facing suspicions over their suspected involvement in the murder of his previous, estranged wife. The small nation of Lesotho is bordered on all sides by South Africa. Thabane’s coalition government fell apart on May 11, and a new government is set to be installed on May 22.

– U.S. presidential hopeful Joe Biden said Monday that he would cancel the Keystone XL pipeline if he were elected to the country’s highest office. The pipeline has faced numerous delays over the years, but is seen as an important means of transporting Canadian oil.
