In the final hours of the United States presidential race, President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden are holding rallies in key states. Trump is scheduled to hold five rallies today in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. On Sunday night, hundreds of Trump supporters were abandoned following a rally in Georgia when scheduled busses didn’t show up to transport rally-goers back to their vehicles. Biden will make appearances in Pennsylvania and Ohio today.
Several European countries are tightening lockdown restrictions this week due to rising COVID-19 cases. Germany, the United Kingdom and Austria are closing restaurants, bars, and non-essential shops. Italy, Greece and Kosovo are also announcing new restrictions. However, many experts say the restrictions are coming too late.
At least 19 people were killed and 22 were wounded on Monday when gunmen stormed Kabul University in Afghanistan’s capital. Reports indicate there were three attackers. The Taliban have denied involvement in the attack, as education centres have been known to be targeted by extremist groups such as the Islamic State in recent years.
