African swine fever, a virus that can kill 90 percent of pigs in a herd, has been found in the Dominican Republic. The disease is now much closer to Canada, and it represents a massive threat to North America’s pork industry. John Ross, executive director of the Canadian Pork Council, explains what is being done to keep ASF out of the country; offering a veterinary perspective is Egan Brockhoff, who says a vaccine probably isn’t the right solution for the deadly swine virus; and Mike Raine, editor of The Western Producer, provides some perspective on the 2021 drought. Hosted by Robert Arnason.
