National Organic Grain and Feedstuffs: August 17

USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News – Compared to two weeks ago, trade activity and demand good. Trade activity too limited on food grade organic grains to trend. Feed grade corn trade activity steady, demand moderate at 46 cents lower FOB. Feed grade soybean trade activity steady, with demand moderate to good, trading 14 cents higher FOB.

Trade limited on soybean meal and oil with prices steady. Feed grade HRW wheat trade good with no comparable trades.
Feed grade oats and barley trade activity good with no comparable trades. Grower bids on feed corn 7.00-8.00/bu FOB, 7.00-9.25/bu DEL; food soybeans 22.00/bu DEL (high protein); feed soybeans 15.50-18.00/bu FOB, 16.00-19.20/bu DEL; feed barley 5.50-7.00/bu DEL; feed oats 4.00-5.00/bu DEL; feed grade wheat bids 6.00-7.50/bu FOB, 8.00 per bushel delivered; feed rye 7.00/bu DEL.

According to the NASS National Crop Progress Report, percentages for the week ending 08/14/16 were, corn dough 73 per cent, corn dented 21 per cent, soybeans blooming 95 per cent, soybeans setting pods 80 per cent, sorghum headed 83 per cent, sorghum coloring 42 per cent, sorghum mature 23 per cent, winter wheat harvested 97 per cent, spring wheat harvested 48 per cent, oats harvested 80 per cent and barley harvested 55 per cent.
