National Organic Grain and Feedstuffs: April 26

USDA – Compared to two weeks ago,feed grade corn demand and activity moderate, trading 9 cents lower FOB with the bulk of market activity on forward contracts. Feed grade soybean demand and activity moderate, trading 19 cents higher FOB.

Trade activity on feed wheat too limited to trend due to lack of comparable trades. Soybean meal traded 49.10 higher than prior period on light demand and activity. Soybean oil trade activity too limited to trend. Forward contract activity organic grains good.

Trade inactive on all other organic commodities. Trade on organic hay not available due to lack of comparable trades.

The NASS National Crop Progress Report for week ending April 24, 2017 reports corn planted 17 percent, corn emerged 4 percent, sorghum planted 24 percent, oats planted 57 percent, oats emerged 37 percent, winter wheat headed 32 percent, spring wheat planted 22 percent, spring wheat emerged 5 percent, barley planted 27 percent, barely emerged 7 percent.
