Exapta is now the exclusive importer of Aricks row cleaners for John Deere 50/60/90 drills, offering a solution to help overcome the tendency of these drills to hairpin residue into the seed slot.

Leah Lanie, Exapta’s sales manager, says that a lot of the problems with hairpinning can be solved with sharper blades, and waiting for the straw to dry. But even then, in damp conditions, or when the thatch is extremely thick, there’s a big advantage of being able to move residue out of the way.

The Aricks row cleaner features an adjustable jacker bolt to limit downstroke. They can also be easily pinned up when not needed (they also need to be pinned up in corn stalks, due to plugging).

Although row cleaners for JD 50/60/90 drills are already on the market in North America, Aricks row cleaners have the same heavy-duty bearing that’s in the opener hubs of John Deere’s 60/90 drills, plus a sturdy casting for the arm and bracket, and a maintenance-free pin.
