CNH Industrial electrifies the construction industry with “ProjectZeus”

CNH Industrial recently unveiled “ProjectZeus,” the construction industry’s first fully electric backhoe loader.

The CASE 580 EV (Electric Vehicle) performance matches a standard CASE backhoe in terms of power and performance, but with the advantages of an electrified machine. The 580 EV’s noise and emission reductions make it attractive to contractors and owners that want to operate equipment with alternative fuel sources.

The 580 EV is powered by a 480-volt, 90-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged by any 220-volt/three-phase connection. The company says each charge will support most common eight-hour workdays.
