Canadian Dollar and Business: Loonie rises almost a quarter cent
Greenback making gains as well

Glacier Farm Media MarketsFarm – The Canadian dollar retook recently lost ground on Thursday morning, in light of small upticks in the United States dollar.
As of 8:35 am CDT, the loonie was at US$0.7273 or US$1=C$1.3756 compared to Wednesday’s close of US$0.7250 or C$1.3794. On the United States Dollar Index, the greenback tacked on 0.056 of a point at 105.820.
Benchmark crude oil prices were a pinch higher on Thursday morning, as Middle East tensions edged out increased U.S. stockpiles.
Brent crude oil was up two cents at US$87.31 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate gained 28 cents at US$82.97.
Shortly after Thursday’s open the TSX/S&P Composite Index added 20.21 points at 21,676.68.
Gold added US$12.20 at US$2,400.60 per ounce.
