Glacier FarmMedia MarketsFarm – The Canadian dollar was holding steady Friday morning.

At 8:48 a.m. CDT the Canadian dollar was trading at US$0.7220 or US$1=C$1.3850, which compares with Thursday’s close of US$0.7222 or US$1=C$1.3846.

Crude oil was weaker in early activity, as a slowdown in jobs growth in the United States and a lack of fresh concerns out of the Middle East weighed on values. West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down by 3.01 per cent at US$74.01 per barrel.

The TSX was weaker, down by 371.28 points at 22,351.93 at 8:48 CDT.
