WINNIPEG, MB, August 10, 2015 (CNS Canada) – The Canadian dollar
weakened against its US counterpart Monday morning as Statistics
Canada released a report on Canada’s crude oil and natural gas supply
and disposition.
At 8:45 a.m. CDT the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7608 or C$1.3144
which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7614, or
C$1.3133.
Canada produced 16.7-million cubic metres of crude oil and
equivalent products in May, down 6.2 per cent from May 2014,
Statistics Canada said in a report on Monday.
However, despite a decline in production, exports of crude oil
and equivalent products for May edged up one per cent from the same
month in 2014 to 14.2 million cubic metres, StatsCan says.
The TSX was weaker in early activity, down 103.21 points at 8:45
a.m. CDT to sit at 14,302.70.
