Canadian Dollar And Business Outlook

Winnipeg, December 24 – The Canadian dollar rose against its American counterpart Thursday morning, taking strength from advances in crude oil and gold bullion.
At 8:55 CDT Thursday morning, the loonie was up 0.0017 of a cent to US$0.7233 or US$1 = C$1.3826.
At 8:55 a.m., New York Mercantile crude oil futures (February contract) had gained US$0.57 to sit at US$38.07 a barrel. The February gold contract advanced $7.30 to US$1,075.60 an ounce.
At 8:55 CDT Thursday morning, the TSX was up 24.42 points to 13,309.33.
