Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, MB, September 23, 2016 (CNS Canada) – The Canadian dollar lost ground against its US counterpart Friday morning, as inflation data wasn’t as strong as analysts had anticipated.
At 8:40 CDT Friday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7606 or US$=C$1.3147, which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7656 or US$1=C$1.3062.
In Canadian domestic data, the consumer price index rose 1.1 per cent on a year-over-year basis in August, following a 1.3 per cent gain in July, Statistics Canada said in a report on Friday.
The TSX was down 10.24 points at 8:40 CDT Friday morning to sit at 14,786.94.
