Canadian Dollar And Business Outlook

Winnipeg, December 6 – The Canadian dollar was slightly lower
compared to its US counterpart Tuesday morning, tracking widespread
losses in commodities.

At 9:17 CST Tuesday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7519
or C$1.3299 which compares with Monday’s North American close of
US$0.7532 or C$1.3276.

At 9:17 CST Tuesday morning, the TSX was up 9.38 points, or
0.06%, at 15,107.93.

According to Statistics Canada, Canada recorded a trade deficit
in October of C$1.13 billion.

As well, the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index, which measures
changes in economic activity, contracted slightly in November. The
index came in at 56.8 on a seasonally adjusted basis.
