Canadian Dollar and Business Outlook: Little change for loonie
The Canadian dollar was virtually unchanged on Monday morning.
The loonie was at US$0.7319 or US$1=C$1.3663 as of 8:32 a.m. CDT, compared to US$0.7316 or US$1=C$1.3668 on Friday. The United States Dollar Index was down 0.12 of a point at 105.82.
Crude oil prices were lower amid U.S. efforts to create a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. Brent crude oil declined US$0.67 at US$88.83 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) slipped US$0.62 at US$88.23/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index added 64.45 points at 22,033.69.
Gold dipped US$2.80 at US$2,344.40 per ounce.
