Canadian Dollar and Business Outlook: Loonie, crude oil higher
Glacier FarmMedia MarketsFarm – The Canadian dollar made a slight gain on Wednesday morning.
The loonie was at US$0.7473 or US$1=C$1.3382, up from Tuesday’s close of US$0.7468 or US$1=C$1.3391. The United States Dollar Index was down 0.02 of a point to 102.55.
Crude oil prices added onto Tuesday’s gains. Brent crude oil rose US$0.59 at US$78.18 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was up US$0.71 at US$72.95/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index made 59.61 points at 21,030.59.
Gold increased US$2.70 at US$2,035.70 per ounce.
