Canadian Dollar and Business Outlook: Loonie rises, crude oil down
The Canadian dollar sought to end the week on a high note.
The loonie was at US$0.7446 or US$1=C$1.3430, compared to Thursday’s close of US$0.7410 or US$1=C$1.3495. The United States Dollar Index was down 0.26 of a point at 103.31.
Crude oil prices eased off on Friday morning, but are still on track for their best week in months. Brent crude oil retreated US$0.32 at US$82.11 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was down US$0.49 at US$76.87/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index added 19.79 points at 21,121.33.
Gold was up US$2.70 at US$2,020.50 per ounce.
