Canadian Financial Close: Loonie, crude oil end week stronger

The loonie closed at US$0.7359 or US$1=C$1.3588, compared to US$0.7355 or US$1=C$1.3597 on Thursday. The United States Dollar Index was up 0.44 of a point at 103.99.
Crude oil ended the week on a strong note. Brent crude oil gained US$1.76 at US$75.81 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) surged US$1.86 to US$71.20/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index advanced 53.03 points to end the day at 20,331.54.
Gold lost US$27.30 at US$2,019.10 per ounce after the release of positive employment data in the U.S.
