Canadian Financial Close: Loonie down, crude oil makes small gains

The loonie closed at US$0.7355 or US$1=C$1.3597, compared to US$0.7367 or US$1=C$1.3574 on Wednesday. The United States Dollar Index was down 0.50 of a point at 103.65.
Crude oil made small rebounds after consecutive days of losses. Brent crude oil added US$0.13 at US$74.43 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) gained US$0.26 to US$69.64/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index advanced 4.30 points to end the day at 20,278.51.
Gold shed US$2.60 at US$2,045.30 per ounce.
