ICE to require one-trade minimum for free online use

Users of ICE Futures Canada’s WebICE system who don’t trade at least one lot per month in any contract will soon have to pay for access.

The Winnipeg ag commodity exchange on Friday announced that as of Jan. 1, 2011, it will levy a US$20 market data exchange fee for WebICE use by those who don’t trade that minimum amount in a given calendar month.

WebICE trade-enabled users who meet the minimum trading requirement of one lot in a calendar month for any ICE Futures Canada contract will continue to access WebICE at no cost.

The charges, subject to applicable taxes, will apply in ICE’s Super-users, Users, Risk Managers and ViewOnly access categories.

Access at the Reports Only level, in which no real-time market data are available, will continue at no cost, ICE said Friday.
