Syngenta Crop Protection Canada’s representative on the Canadian 4-H Council has been named the organization’s new president.

Judy Shaw was elected by council board members to the post for a two-year term at the council’s recent annual meeting on Prince Edward Island.

Shaw replaces Bob McAuley, who remains on the board as past president. She has been involved in 4-H since 1996 when she became Syngenta’s member representative for the 4-H Council, and has served as a member of the public relations committee and as a council director.

Shaw, who has also served as a board member for the Ontario 4-H Foundation, was recently recognized for her contributions to the Canadian 4-H Foundation as a member of the 4-H 500 Club.

Meanwhile, the Canadian 4-H Foundation, the fundraising arm of 4-H in Canada, has also elected a new president, Lyndon Carlson, the senior vice-president of marketing at Farm Credit Canada.

Carlson, whose term is also for two years, replaces Dori Gingera-Beauchemin as the foundation’s president.

His responsibilities at FCC include managing the federal ag lender’s brand, product development, pricing, insurance, industry relations, learning programs and publications, and farm management software.
