A consultant who helped design the merger process for the operations of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and Agricore United has been named as the merged company’s new human resources VP.
The official title for Steven Berger, who helped develop the integration plan while working for management consulting firm Accenture, will be senior vice-president of human resources and transformation, Viterra announced Tuesday.
Berger will be based out of Calgary and will work with the company’s operations across Western Canada, the company said. His role will include working with senior management “to lead all change- and transformation-related initiatives throughout Viterra.”
Berger had worked for A.T. Kearney, another management consulting firm, before joining Accenture.
He replaces Gerry Valois, who retired from the merged company earlier this year. Valois had been the vice-president of human resources for Agricore United.
