ICE canola mostly higher heading into the weekend
Glacier FarmMedia – Canola futures on the Intercontinental Exchange were slightly higher on Friday morning.
The Canadian Grain Commission reported 99,500 tonnes of canola were exported during the week ended Nov. 23, compared to 284,600 the previous week. So far this marketing year, 1.928 million tonnes were shipped compared to 3.695 million at this time last year.
Statistics Canada will release its principal field crop production report on Dec. 4.
Chicago soyoil and Malaysian palm oil were up, while European rapeseed was mixed. Crude oil was also going in both directions due to uncertainty over peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. OPEC+ will also meet over the weekend to discuss output.
Following the Thanksgiving Day holiday, the United States markets will operate on limited hours on Friday.
The Canadian dollar is up two-tenths of a U.S. cent compared to Thursday’s close.
