The world according to fertilizer

Farmers began to feel the sting of high fertilizer prices and crop inputs in the spring and summer of 2022, but it was events that transpired nearly two years earlier that began to shape that costly and unfortunate situation.
During his presentation at Manitoba Ag Days last month, Josh Linville, vice-president of fertilizer for StoneX Financial, spoke about the chain of unfortunate events – including storms, a broken supply chain, high energy costs, and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine – that led to a year of one of the most expensive crops ever planted for farmers; and more importantly, his advice for farmers for the 2023 growing season that’s just around the corner.
